Extreme Tater Tots Casserole | Loaded Tots

July 18, 2018 by Hope

Extreme Tater Tots Casserole | Loaded Tots

When my boys were smaller we would make a trip to Sonic and we discovered their extreme tater tots. They were so good! Just the right combination of everything we loved in one recipe. One day we decided to make this recipe ourselves and it was just as good as if we got it from Sonic.

I love shopping at the local grocery called Aldi for low price groceries. All of the items are from Aldi but you can purchase these items from your favorite local grocery store

Ingredients:

                   1 bag of tater tots

                   1 can of chili

1 jar sliced pickled jalapenos (use as many as desired)

                   1 medium yellow onion

                   1 2-cups of shredded cheese

1 bottle of ranch salad dressing (use as much as desired)

*Add other toppings or condiments that you prefer as desired

  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees for the tater tots. Place the tater tots on a sheet pan/cookie sheet, spray pan lightly with cooking spray if needed for the tater tots.
  • Cook them according to the package. My package directions were 15-18 minutes. I like to cook mine a little longer to make sure they are done all the way through.
  • Once they are done take your tater tots and place them in a casserole dish or a dish that is about 2-3 inches deep.
  • Make sure to heat up your chili. Once it is heated pour the chili evenly over the tater tots.
  • Then add your diced onions over your chili and tater tots.
  • Next, you are going to add your jalapenos and then your shredded cheese.
  • Place your dish inside the oven at 350 degrees for about 8-10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Once done take it out and add ranch dressing as much as desired. I would advise adding only as much you or your family is going to eat at a time.  In case it needs to be reheated later.
